Folk songwriter most recently out of Nashville, but was previously part of a band in Boulder Newcomers Home. She is known to perform with musicians such as Jeremy Lister, Christopher Williams, Sandra McCracken, and Matthew Perryman Jones. In 2006 she released "Weightless." This was followed by her 2008 release "Apple Tree."
In support of Weightless, Katie has opened shows for The Fray and many others, while also making time for the PASTE Songwriters tour with Jeremy Lister, Sandra McCracken, and Matthew Perryman Jones. To take matters even further, Katie’s song “Heaven’s My Home” was nominated for a 2007 Grammy for Best Country Performance by the Duhks. She has also had TV placements on various shows including "Grey’s Anatomy," "Smallville" and “ER.” She also features on "Eternal" and "Half Our Lives" on Sanctus Real’s "We Need Each Other", released in 2008. Also, Herzig may be heard as the female voice screaming "shake it off!" in the Steven Delopoulos song "Halt" featured on his album "Straighjacket." Listen at Last.fm610 Followers See all
