The fest is easily accessible by the CTA Blue Line (Damen stop) and is just minutes from downtown Chicago via train and complimentary bike parking will be offered.
Historic yet hip and cutting edge, Chicago’s Wicker Park and Bucktown district offers a variety of lifestyle options…distinctive art, acclaimed restaurants and a trendy music scene to name just a few. Reflecting the eclectic neighborhood is the annual Wicker Park Fest, Saturday, July 31, 2010 through Sunday, August 1, 2010. Showcasing the diverse area for a seventh consecutive year, Wicker Park Fest 2010 is presented by the Wicker Park & Bucktown Chamber of Commerce and Big Creek Productions. Over 40,000 people attended in 2009 (contact publicist Jody Grimaldi for event photos).
Revelers will enjoy spirited alt-indie music that takes place continuously throughout the weekend on three stages. Wicker Park Fest also features great food from local restaurants as well as unique arts & crafts from local Chicago artisans and vendors.
The fest is held on N. Milwaukee Ave. between W. North Ave. and N. Wood St., easily accessible by the Blue Line and just minutes from downtown Chicago. Calling all families! With so many youngsters in the neighborhood, this year’s fest will include Wicker Park Fest Kids, which will offer a wide variety of children’s programming. There will be kid’s entertainment on the live music stage featuring interactive children’s activities, “Moon-Bounce” fun, a “Psychobaby Activity Tent” for kids, face painting by Metamorph Tattoos. Proceeds from Wicker Park Fest Kids a local Wicker Park Bucktown public school.

Following a pair of wildly received reunion shows the same weekend as the Pitchfork Music Festival, Cap'n Jazz makes an odd detour into Wicker Park Fest, where it headlines over (!!!) seminal post-punk band Mission Of Burma on the festival's North Stage Saturday night. more at www.avclub.com
