The Yes Way are RethinkPopMusic's newest and most exciting artist. The Yes Way's sound draws influence equally from the catchiest Beck, the moody expanses of Grizzly Bear and the raw power of Led Zeppelin. Their songs are based in intricate melody-chord relationships and driven by a propulsive rhythm section... a fusion that is raw, energetic and delicate. Despite NOT having an album pressed The Yes Way have been playing New York's most noteworthy venues (Mercury Lounge, Santos Party House, The Studio at Webster Hall) for about a year, but all tour and album release aspirations have been on hold until Aaron (vox/guitar) recently took a leave of absence from the critically acclaimed Xylos. Since then, The Yes Way have played multiple SXSW 2010 showcases, Kahbang Music Festival with OK GO, Free Energy and B.O.B and were voted the Deli Magazine's Band of the Month for September 2010. In the next few months The Yes Way will hit the road once more with appearances at Midpoint Music Festival (Best Coast, Surfer Blood, Ted Leo), CMJ 2010 and the Miami Music Festival (Headliners TBD) before going into the studio to record their debut album at year's end. THE BLACK FORTYS: Carly crawled out of a Custard stand and met Josh. Josh crawled out of a tent and met Kevin & Nate. Eventually they all moved to Carbondale, IL.One year after their formation, they were deemed "Best College Band of 2008" in Rolling Stone Magazine and have since opened up for Nas, The Duke Spirit, Eulogies, shared a bill with Bob Dylan, Gnarls Barkely, Spoon, The Black Keys, & Black Mountain, recorded with famed producer Brian Deck on their e.p. "Kaskaskia Island" in 2009, and once enjoyed the luxoury of a yacht. SONS OF THE WEST was formed in Columbus, Ohio by three friends who have been growing up and making music together for over five year now. The decision to become a band happened before anyone had figured out what instrument to play, so they all learned at the same time. Shows and recordings were put together in basements, living rooms, bars and anywhere else they could find where people might be listening. This persisted until a year ago when the band made a record, packed up and moved to Chicago in hopes of meeting more people, playing more shows and making more music.

SXSW 2011 REVIEW: VILLAGE This up and coming Chicago band played to a rambunctious crowd at Chupa Cabra on the Bourbon street of Austin (6th street). The driving bass with a touch of funk kept the thumbs tapping, more at blog.do312.com
