Discovered by JACK WHITE and brought to Third Man Studios for their first recordings, THE BLACK BELLES take their melancholic penchant for black and capture a modern twist on a sound heavily rooted in the soul and garage rock of the 60s on their debut, self-titled LP, produced by WHITE. A creepy collection of power chord-based riffs, warbley witches vocals floating on top farfisa fueled under-toe surf pop, were guessing that after this tour, THE BLACK BELLES will be playing to a much wider audience. In the words of the Chicago Reader, it's the "mixture of old-fashioned pop tropes and knife-flashing 'tude that makes HOLLOWS sound like an alternate-universe version of the SHANGRI-LAS who got to the end of 'Leader of the Pack' and decided to start a biker gang of their own," and they open here tonight.
