- Georgia natives, of Montreal, may be named after an unsuccessful tryst with a girl from Montreal, but their career is anything but unsuccessful. Forming in 1996, of Montreal’s music is hard to peg, but even harder to get out of your head. Catchy rhythms combined with front man’s, Kevin Barnes, falsetto-type vocals make this neo-psychedelic, funk, glam, indie band a mainstay in the music industry. Almost 16 years, 8 line-up switch-ups, and 10 albums later, of Montreal are back yet again with their 11th studio effort, Paralytic Stalks, due for release in 2012. In early November, the band announced it finished recording and released “Wintered Debts” on their website, rumored to be the first single off their upcoming album. In addition to a much-anticpated 11th album, of Montreal released a cassette box set this year with all 10 of their previous studio albums. of Montreal gear up for another off-beat and memorable tour in 2012 promoting Paralytic Stalks. So come jam the winter blues away with us on Wednesday, March 28th, when of Montreal play a legendary show at Metro!
