Brooklyn indie-pop trio Hospitality have made an outsized splash with just one album and EP. With vocals from lead singer Amber Papini, their softer acoustic side draws on artists like Kimya Dawson and Devendra Banhart while retaining an all-encompassing, all-original sound. more at chicagoinnerview.com
Soon after Sub Pop’s release of The Woods in 2005, Portland-based riot grrrls Sleater-Kinney announced an indefinite hiatus. Portland/Washington D.C.'s Wild Flag is Carrie Brownstein, Mary Timony, Rebecca Cole and Janet Weiss. If those names sound familiar, you used to listen to either Helium, Sleater-Kinney, Quasi, The Minders, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, or, I don't know, lots and lots of other bands those four women have been in throughout their professional careers. more at ohmyrockness.com
