- Neon Indian is an electronic synth-pop band from Denton, Texas. Then band's frontman, Alan Palomo, was born in Mexico but moved to Texas as a young child. Palomo got his musical influence from his father who was a Mexican pop star in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Before Neon Indian, Palomo was writing and recording music for his two other music projects, VEGA and Ghosthuslter. Neon Indian officially formed in 2008 and released their first album in 2009. The band's first album, Psychic Chasms, was praised by critics and Rolling Stone even named Neon Indian one of the hottest bands of 2010. Neon Indian has toured with some pretty notable bands such as, Phoenix, Chromeo, Sleigh Bells, Wild Nothing, etc. Recently, Neon Indian recorded their second album, Era Extrana in Helsinki, Finland and the album was released in the fall of 2011. The band is going on a nation-wide tour to support Era Extrana and you can come see Neon Indian play at Metro this Spring!
