- 2008-2012, Various directors, Various nations, 87 min. In Melika Bass’ mysterious WAKING THINGS (2011, 34 min.), an eccentric family prepares a ritual feast for a group of traveling foreigners. Samantha Rebello’s FORMS ARE NOT SELF-SUBSISTENT SUBSTANCES (2010, 23 min.) explores substances (flesh, stone, milk and meat) through medieval imagery, while the woman in Reynold Reynolds’s SECRET LIFE (2008, 10 min.) exists in a surreal closed world where her thoughts manifest as plants growing to overtake her existence. Experimental shorts by Stephen Broomer, Tara Nelson, and Charlotte Pryce complete the program. Various formats. (CUFF) Selected filmmakers will be present for audience discussion.
