Foster The People
Foster The People came together in late 2009 when Mark Foster met band mates Cubbie Fink and Mark Ponitus through mutual friends in the Los Angeles music scene. Foster hailing from Cleveland, OH had been writing and recording music since his youth but it wasn't until the three members came together that Foster's music for the bands upcoming debut release, Torches, was ready for friends to hear.
In early 2010, Foster The People posted their first song "Pumped Up Kicks" on the internet. Days later it was used to score a friend's fashion video, days after that it showed up on Hype Machine and a year later it had seemed to make its way into the ears of millions of listeners around the world.
Foster The People released their first EP this January to give fans a taste of what they'll hear on Torches which is out this May! Until then the band will be on the road playing a completely sold out U.S. tour with stops including SXSW, Coachella and Sasquatch music festivals.
Tokyo Police Club
Two Door Cinema Club are an Electropop/Indie Rock band from Bangor and Donaghadee, Northern Ireland formed in 2007. They are signed to French record label Kitsuné Music, through which they released their debut album Tourist History on 1 March 2010.
The band's name came about after one of the members mispronounced the name of local cinema Tudor Cinema, and this stuck. In 2007, Two Door Cinema Club was formed, and following an increased interest in their music on their MySpace page, they gave up their university places and began work on studio material. An EP "Four Words To Stand On" was released in January 2009, and they then began to record their debut album at Eastcote Studios in London with Eliot James in July 2009. In September, the band began mixing the record with Phillipe Zdar at Motorbass, his studio in Paris.
In December 2009, Two Door Cinema Club were featured in the BBC's Sound Of 2010 Poll, which was decided by 165 British "tastemakers".
The album was preceded by the singles "I Can Talk" and "Undercover Martyn", and "Something Good Can Work" was released in May 2010. The band's next single "Come Back Home" is released on 12th July 2010.
Two Door Cinema Club have opened for a number of bands including; autoKratz, Delphic, Foals and Metronomy, as well as for Phoenix during several dates of their 2010 U.S. tour. The band tour the UK in Sept/Oct 2010 including two sold out shows at London's Shepherds Bush Empire.
