312 and Cubby Bear are looking for the best of the best! Beginning Wednesday, January 4th, MER will host the local band showcase at Cubby Bear Wrigley! This showcase gives up and coming Chicago singer/songwrters and bands a chance to earn an opening slot for a national act on the historic, Cubby Bear stage! It's hard to break into the scene with the over-saturation of bands these days. There are TWO factors that help propel bands to the next level.
#1: Your music has to be good [duh].
#2: You have to draw.
If you can put on a great set and bring 30 of your family and friends, I will pass your information along to DUFF ENTERTAINMENT, the exclusive booking agent at Cubby Bear! I have personally developed a relationship with Duff Entertainment and the Cubby Bear over the past 10 years and have earned opening slots for artists such as: Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Rusted Root and the Violent Femmes.
Here's how it works...
SINGER-SONGWRITER CIRCLE:
From 8-9pm, MER and 4-5 local singer/songwriters will perform in a round robin/Nashville style songwriter circle.
FULL BAND SHOWCASE:
From 9pm-1am, bands of every style and genre are invited to perform 4 SONGS and showcase their best!
FULL BACK LINE PROVIDED BY ANDY'S PRO-HIRE:
- 5 piece drum kit [bring your snare, kick pedal and cymbals]
- 2 Peavy Classic tube amps
- 1 Hartke bass combo
PRO SOUND & LIGHTING:
Cubby Bear boasts one of the best productions staffs in Chicago! Pro sound with 4 monitor mixes, a slammin front of house sound and intelligent lighting system will make you sound and look like the rockstars you envisioned!
