Simpleton & Cityfolk

Evergreen Trees
Simpleton: a person lacking common sense. Cityfolk: Those folks from the city. Starting in just July 2010, Simpleton & Cityfolk went from being a couple buddies playing Sunday afternoon shows in the Wisconsin Dells to a full gigging folk/pop band out of Chicago. The band name originates from the long-standing joke within the guys that Geoff, being from Iowa, is a “simpleton” and the other guys, being from Chicago, are the “cityfolk”. Nonetheless, in 9 months of being together, S & C have already played some of the best venues in Chicago from Double Door to the Hard Rock Café. The momentum they achieved in late 2010 has yet to subside and the future is looking brighter as each week passes. With Geoff Glenn holding down the lead vocals/rhythm guitar, keyboard, mandolin Chris Bennett as lead guitarist/harmonica/percussion/vocals, John Conlon was the guitar/mandolin/banjo/vocals before his departure (moved to Utah), Mike "Sku" Skowronski on drums, and Chris “FOO” Williams holding down the low end with his upright bass/vocals; Whether it’s the 3-4 part harmonies, the screaming guitar solos, or the spinning upright bass, Simpleton & Cityfolk is a great band to see and also a fun group of guys to hang out with once they put their instruments down. They currently reside in Chicago and are releasing their debut EP June 2012.
