No budget? No fear. Free museum days are here. Mark these days on your calendar for your chance to enjoy Chicago's museums and galleries care and cost-free.

Illinois residents can enjoy free admission (with proof of residency) every Wednesday from 4 to 10 p.m.

This summer, the Art Institute of Chicago is providing Free Thursday Evenings for Illinois residents, June 5th–September 25th between 5:00–8:00 p.m.

Chicago Botanic Garden

1000 Lake Cook Rd. - Glencoe, IL


Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature at the Chicago Botanic Garden, a verdant oasis just outside the bustling city. With their vibrant community, beautiful gardens, engaging classes, and captivating events, all while enjoying an incredible perk of free entrance fees. 


Parking and entry are free every day for active duty military, U.S. military reservists and former pows, link, and WIC holders, IL educators, and kids' museum passports. The garden is also part of Museums for All.


Illinois residents can enjoy the gardens for free on select dates and Preregistration for nonmembers is required and will extend until the Garden is at capacity; parking fees apply.

Discover the joy of learning through play at the Chicago Children's Museum. 


Veterans will receive one (1) free admission daily with military ID, while active-duty military will receive up to four (4) free admissions for themselves and three guests each day with valid military identification. They are also a part of the Museums for All program.
