What is Do312?

Do312 is Chicago’s go-to guide for finding something awesome to do tonight and every night. We’re part of the DoStuff Network, a national group of local media brands in 21+ cities across North America, all focused on helping culture-forward people discover the best concerts, festivals, and events happening around them.


Since launching in 2010, Do312 has become a trusted source for what’s happening in Chicago, online, on mobile, and across social.


Internship Description

Do312’s content and social media intern will be responsible for adding events, creating editorial content, and posting on Do312’s social media accounts. A content and social media intern will need to be focused, able to work quickly and efficiently, and have an eye for detail. Interns must also excel at copywriting. Bringing an individual style and personality to your work is always encouraged.


We are offering real-time, real-world experiences to sharpen the skills of individuals who want to build their resume, gain references, and/or fulfill college credit. In compliance with the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division's Fair Labor Standards Act, this internship is unpaid.


Requirements:

  • 10 - 15 hours per week for at least 3-month commitment. (2-3 business days per week)

  • Computer with strong internet access

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Superb communication and writing skills, including the ability to proofread and edit

  • Prior awareness of Do312 - active user of the site, and familiar with our other outlets (social media, newsletter, etc)

  • Strong understanding of social media with current, active profiles

  • Strong passion for music and/or Chicago events and nightlife

  • Self-Motivated - ability to focus and complete duties in a casual environment

  • Flexible schedule

  • Candidate should ideally be looking to fill a college credit requirement. This is negotiable, but candidate will have to prove ability to take on the position if not seeking credit

  • Photoshop/InDesign experience not required, but a plus

Roles:

  • Work with Content Manager to maintain Do312 social media accounts

  • Create social media posts

  • Assist with general website maintenance and updates

  • Building venue lists and editorial guides (i.e. best patios, festival aftershows, etc.)

  • Add events to site

  • Help with local event coverage

  • Work independently on assigned tasks and track completion
