Drag A Beer - Shea Coul-Alé

Category is ... Drag A Beer!

It’s “Week Who Knows” of quarantine and while time has lost all meaning we know it’s almost time for Pride season in Chicago. While the Do312 Fam decided to take a collective break together and enjoy a cold beer—virtually, of course—we got a special message from thee Shea Couleé: They didn’t come to play, they came to SLAY!

The Chicago drag and music powerhouse kicks off the Drag A Beer collaboration between Goose Island and DoStuff to give beer fans and drag lovers alike the fiercest Goose Island brew with the Shea Coul-Alé. The unique dry-hopped wheat ale is inspired by the essence of Chicago's vibrant drag scene and Shea’s own resilience and power, while celebrating and giving back to the LGBTQ+ community. We tried it out, 10s across the board. And here’s the tea!

Update:

Like Shea Couleé in All Stars 5, the Shea Coul-Alé was a smash hit and unfortunately is SOLD OUT. We hoped you enjoyed this sickening brew and collaboration, because there's more where that came from!

What It Tastes Like:

The Shea Coul-Alé is equal parts bougie and banji just like its namesake, with flavors that are lemony, bright and crisp. The dry-hopped wheat ale is a perfect summer drink, whether you’re in your living room enjoying some digital drag, or in your backyard starting up the grill.

Drink knowing you're donating to a cause. A portion of all profits from Goose Island’s Shea Coul-Alé will benefit TransTech—Shea's charity of choice. In 2014, Pose actress and activist Angelica Ross founded TransTech as a social enterprise that provides education, support and jobs for trans people facing high levels of discrimination. Today the charity is dedicated to creating comprehensive vocational training and job placement for trans women looking to get a head start in the workforce.

What to stream with it:

Stay-at-home orders can’t keep the spirit of Pride out of our homes, so check out our guide to virtual Pride events and find the perfect show to stream. And nothing pairs better with the Shea Coul-Alé than more Shea Couleé! Watch their short film Lipstick City, stream their music, and catch them hosting Chicago Is A Digital Drag Festival

Where to get it:

Pre-order this new drink beginning June 3 starting at 12pm and more widely available on  June 10 to show support for Shea in RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 5. You can also order Shea Coul-Alé for delivery or pick-up in Chicago at their Clybourn Brewpub, Fulton Taproom, and Replay Andersonville. As Ms. Couleé said – sick, fierce and cocky!
