The Best Black Wednesday Parties Happening In Chicago This Year

If you're going to spend Thanksgiving with a hangover, you might as well pair it with some good (but hazy) memories.

Black Wednesday is your last chance to party hardy before the tryptophan and family obligations take hold, so make it count. We've put together our favorite parties, shows and events happening around town.

Remember when you'd sit around with all of your siblings and cousins on holidays and play videos games? Well, this is kind of like that—just a more adult version. Headquarters is hosting a Black Wednesday Smash Bros Tournament. The winner takes home $250, but the $5 craft beers and shots behind the bar won't do any favors for your skill level.

¡Pachanga! dance party returns to East Room for its Black Wednesday edition featuring Brazilian jazz band Rio Bamba, plus DJs all night long! The first 50 people through the door get free paletas. Yum. RSVP for reduced cover at the door!

LaCroix Boi himself is in town. Catch Big Dipper with one of our local faves ShowYouSuck at SPACE in Evanston.

Next up is whiskey and wine tasting at the Frontier’s first annual Wine & Whiskey Fest. Snack on appetizers and listen to live music while sampling over 50 brands of whiskey. Get your tickets before 11/18 to receive a free engraved tasting glass!

Time is running out to enjoy Red Bull Sound Select's 30 Days In Chicago. Lucky for you, tickets to Jacob Banks' show at Lincoln Hall are still on sale.

Partying with renowned house producer Robin Schulz until 4 a.m.? Sounds like the makings of a rough Thanksgiving morning—and we mean that in the best way.

Local songstress and Pitchfork Music Festival standout Jamila Woods is playing a hometown show at Metro with a few other talented, totally badass Chicagoans.

Keep the local vibes going on the punk side of the spectrum with Pegboy and The Bollweevils at Chop Shop.

Late Bar's Horror Wednesdays crew is bringing you The Nightmare Before Thanksgiving. They'll be pumping the best metal, goth and glam tunes until the early A.M. hours paired with $3 well drinks. It sounds scary good to us.

The HER Chicago Fall Party is going down at Whiskey Business. The dating and social networking app for LGBTQ+ women and queer people is bringing everything from life-sized Jenga to flip cup to the party. Plus, you can dance the night away on the enclosed rooftop. Enter to win a pair of tickets!

It doesn't stop there! There are tons of other awesome shows happening around town that night. Don't believe us? Just watch.
